What to be aware of ?
Upon resumption in September, 2023, Bridging Gaps College will be offering classes for Year 7 and Year 8 students. These classes will provide a strong foundation for students in their secondary school education and beyond. At Bridging Gaps College, our wide range of educational programs, include
English Language and Literature
Developing language skills, reading comprehension, creative writing, and critical analysis of literary texts.
Mathematics
Building a solid understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving skills and logical reasoning.
Science
Exploring the fundamentals of scientific principles, conducting experiments, and developing scientific inquiry skills in subjects like physics, chemistry and biology.
Social Studies
At BGC, we offer a wide range of educational programs, including pre-university courses, undergraduate programs, and professional certifications. Our curriculum is designed to foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
Languages
Introducing students to foreign languages like French, Spanish, or Mandarin to enhance their communication skills and cultural awareness. We also offer two Nigerian languages, Ibo and Yoruba as compulsory subjects.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT):
Equipping students with digital literacy skills, computer programming and proficiency in using technology for learning. To ensure that learning in this field is not theoretical, children will be expected to get internationally certified at strategic points in their learning. Also, learning in this field will be based on identifying real world problems and then developing solutions for these problems.
Physical Education
Promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and an active lifestyle through various sports and physical activities. These activities are not just viewed as fun activities as students are also encouraged to develop their interests in this field by engaging professional coaches who will challenge students to develop these skills professionally.
Christian Religious Knowledge
Providing students with better understanding of their faith and to help foster cooperation, tolerance and empathy to one another and to the world around them.
Arts and Music
Nurturing creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for the arts through visual arts, music, drama, and dance.
We also offer electives which are outside the core curriculum and in which the children will get certification before leaving the college, because learning is also personalized, children who are willing and academically prepared are also encouraged to take on some advanced placement (pre-university) courses.
